When it was first announced that Nintendo would be a major sponsor of this year’s Vans Warped Tour, I was more than a little shocked. It didn’t seem like an obvious fit. Why would the biggest video game company in the world want to attach themselves to a tour full of under-developed bands? The fact of the matter is that Nintendo has a product out right now that you need to see to believe, the 3DS. Armed with a giant tent full of 3DS demos and a staff eager to educate attendees of the tour, Nintendo’s presence at the Warped Tour might be one of the smartest moves they make all year.
