As gamers are known to do, I found myself in a Gamestop yesterday. Usually it’s some clueless jock or parent at the counter, saying something dumb about my favorite pastime. Yesterday however was dramatically different. Yesterday, I heard the smartest little girl in the world. She couldn’t have been older then 8, but she spoke like a literate college student. The conversation between her, and her mother, went like this.
Mom: “Why can’t you get Guitar Hero for the DSi?”
Girl: “Cause the DSi doesn’t have a Game Boy Advance slot, and the Guitar Hero buttons go into the Game Boy Advance Slot.”
Mom: “Well that’s dumb”
Girl: “It’s just one game that I can’t play, I like the cameras on my DSi better than being able to play Guitar Hero.”
I swear to you people, those are exact quotes. It’s like this little girl spends her day hanging out on Kotaku, and commenting all over Joystiq. I wanted to take her from this clueless mother and make her my own. I can only hope that this girl spreads her intelligence to other girls and boys her age.
