Last night I finished Assassin’s Creed 2 and with only Left 4 Dead 2 left, I think I have played almost every game I wanted to play in 2009. Assassin’s Creed 2 is a dense game, and we don’t record our Reviewcast until Tomorrow, which is fine because I think I need a day to process everything. Speaking of reviews hopefully you read Aaron and I’s reviews of God of War Collection, it’s the first game I ever had to finish before a deadline that wasn’t self-imposed, and it was an interesting experience. Did I play the game at an accelerated pace? Yeah, but did it detract from the experience? I don’t think so, but I could definitely see how it could and it’s a fine line I’m going to have to learn how to walk. It appears that God of War Collection wont be the last game we will have an advance review for.

In case you haven’t noticed I write the news for the website and wow, what a slow week it’s been. I’ll assume it’s because this week is Thanksgiving and I wouldn’t be surprised if from now through the end of the year we see a slow down in gaming news. A lot of companies really do just kind of shut down for the holidays. I used to work for a place that hosted the servers for conference calls, and the number of scheduled conference calls went WAY down through the holidays cause most of the big wigs just stay home from Thanksgiving through New Years. It must be nice.

There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes here at the site about how we are going to handle end of the year and while nothing is written in stone it seems that we wont be doing a site Top 10 of 2009, but I decided today that I am going to make a personal Top 10 that I will post on the site. I feel like it’s important to show you who I am and what kind of games I personally enjoy by arranging a Top 10. So look for that some time next month. As far as the site as a whole we have a ton of really unique ideas and hopefully one bubbles up to the surface that we can share with you and that you think is cool.

What about 2010? Well, we have a site redesign in the works that blows what we currently have out of the water. It’s going to be a lot more interactive and easier to navigate. It’s going to be good to finally get feedback on news stories and our blogs. We can’t wait for you to see it.

I think that’s going to do it for me, for this week. If your in the US enjoy Thanksgiving, hopefully you get to spend it with friends and family. Also, hopefully you don’t get crushed to death at a black Friday sale. Or, that you don’t crush someone to death at a black Friday sale, cause, you would probably not look at sales the same way ever again. You’d probably be so wracked with guilt that you would pay full price for everything from now on, and nobody wants that.
