Sega is all set to release a free app for the iPhone based on their Ultimate Genesis Collection compilation. The app will include Space Harrier II for free and then in app purchases can get you other classic Genesis games. The app should be out in February and we imagine new games will be added all the time. The first four titles are:
• Sonic the Hedgehog: $5.99
• Golden Axe: $4.99
• Ecco the Dolphin: $2.99
• Shining Force: $2.99
Note that Sonic and Golden Axe are currently available as stand alone games for the same price. Think of this free app as a launcher and store. We also can’t imagine Sega would release any more stand alone games, when they can do everything through this app.
