Heavy Rain UK Marketing As Awesome As It’s Box Art?

Friday, February 26th, 2010

One of our UK readers, Jamie says he found this outside of his girlfriend’s “letterbox” which we think is the Queen’s English for mailbox. It was just sitting there on the ground. It’s significant because today Heavy Rain comes out in the UK. Those of us here in America who have been playing the game know that this origami crane is the calling card of the serial killer in the game. Jamie thinks it’s possible that people who are signed up on Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s mailing list were the recipients of these cranes, either that or someone played a cruel joke on him this morning. Either way, he has a bad ass paper crane to commemorate the release of Heavy Rain. Did anyone else in the UK find one of these outside of their letterbox?

Oh I definetely considered the possiblity that someone was trying to wind me up. Or, kill me.

But the thing is a properly made thing, glossy paper etc, its an official product as such. Very cool. I signed up to the mailing list awhile back after I missed out on a beta, its the only thing I can think of, as my pre-order was for a different address.

I just got my copy of Heavy Rain and an unfolded version of the same thing is in the box, so yes this seems very official.

Very awesome. Being on the list has got you the god of war demo early and maybe modnation racers too, but this is just such a cool way to launch the game.

For anyone that cares, its in the your psn account somewhere, you jus tick to receive the newsletter and they put you into these kind of things automatically. I won’t get to play my game tilsunday though :(!
