Well it’s finally official, F.E.A.R. 3 is coming, and it’s not being developed by Monolith, it’s being developed by Day 1 Studios who are responsible for the console ports of the first F.E.A.R. game. Some familiar faces return in this game including Alma, The Point Man, and Paxton Fettel. Players will play as The Point Man just as they did in the first game, while a new co-op mode allows a second player to control Paxton. The game will also feature some enhancements to the cover system. In another interesting development the cinematics in the game are going to be directed by acclaimed horror movie director John Carpenter(The Thing, They Live) and the script for the game was written by acclaimed horror comic book writer Steve Niles(30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre). It’s interesting to look back on the DLC for F.E.A.R. 2 and realize that it was Monolith putting the story where they needed to so they could pass off the franchise to Day 1.
