Warner Bros. has decided to put all of their Lord of the Rings eggs in one basket by buying Turbine the studio that makes the Lord of the Rings MMO. Warner has a few console Lord of the Rings games in development so having control over Turbine should ensure the franchise stays healthy for a few years to come. No word on how this effects Dungeons and Dragons Online or Asheron’s Call but I would guess that it doesn’t. It would be pretty disappointing to have WB come in and pull the plug on those franchises just because all they wanted was Lord of the Rings Online.
