Ubisoft has heard your cries and made changes to their DRM to keep you happy. Their major change is that they’re getting rid of it for their next PC release. Their upcoming RTS, R.U.S.E., will utilize Steamworks’ DRM which has a proven track record of not being terrible and frustrating. I’m sure all PC gamers would agree that this is a step in the right direction for Ubisoft if it were a permanent change. Unfortunately, according to Stefano Petrullo, they will continue to use their “constant-connection DRM” for most future PC games, giving PC gamers plenty of flame fodder for the Ubisoft boards.
