Age of Empires is back and this time in online form. It’s being headed up by Robot Entertainment, who used to be Ensemble, who used to be the guys who made Age of Empires. Yeah, we don’t get it either. Microsoft claims that the game will feature a rich social experience and will be playable for free via Games for Windows Live. This is what we know from the press release.
* A persistent online capital city that lives and grows even when you’re offline
* Cooperative multiplayer quests, trading and a level-based system that lets you progress at your own pace
* Fun, approachable style and storylines
* Free-to-play experiences via Games for Windows – LIVE
With Gamescom ramping up over in Germany we should know much more about Age of Empires online soon.
