REVIEW: Iron Man 2

Posted by Jim Plachy (Tue, May 11, 2010)

The first Iron man movie game was not good, and neither is the second one. Bad camera, short levels, and insipid boss encounters plague Iron Man 2. Does the game have any redeeming qualities? Find out here.

Reviewcast: Splinter Cell Conviction

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Thu, Apr 22, 2010)

I’ll break it down for you. Fish over-analyzes the game, Aaron references Batman and cinema, and Plachy spends most of the time near the toilet. It’s a pretty vanilla Reviewcast in that regard. But you’ll listen because you want to know what we think.

Reviewcast: Borderlands DLC Pack 1

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Mon, Apr 5, 2010)

It’s the dry season for game releases, but that doesn’t mean you don’t deserve some quality time with Fish and Plachy. Luckily 2K Games decided that this was the perfect time to release a disk of the 6 month old DLC for Borderlands. Thank them…and us.

Reviewcast: Red Steel 2

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Tue, Mar 30, 2010)

I want to tell you about The Matador. How its elegance and ferocity marinate your being until your very core is soaked in that zesty Face Buckle taste. I want to tell you about it…but I cannot. The Matador is something to be experienced, not retold.

Remember the Punch-Out! Reviewcast? The one where we gushed about the game for 15 minutes instead of sending you to buy it? Yeah, this is just like that, only longer. I don’t want to spoil the review, but if you aren’t buying this game, you’re broken.

Reviewcast: Heavy Rain

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Thu, Mar 4, 2010)

So do I make a quicktime event joke here? Maybe a “lol, they’re french” joke? I have no idea what to say. I don’t want to spoil anything in the Reviewcast, which tries hard not to spoil the game, so I’ll just say “Baguette”.

Reviewcast: Dante’s Inferno

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Thu, Feb 25, 2010)

This game is the most succinct use of the Hell License we have ever seen. I mean, we felt like we were in Hell while we played it. It’s THAT realistic. You may be put off by the badge, but this game does a great job of making you feel like you’re in hell.

Reviewcast: Bioshock 2

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Thu, Feb 18, 2010)

Bioshock didn’t need a sequel. Hell, I would argue that it didn’t want a sequel. But a sequel it got. Now its up to Fish, Plachy, and Aaron to justify why it’s worth your time

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Tue, Jan 19, 2010)

It seems like every year we are given a game with amazing design concepts and lackluster execution. Like 2008’s Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a game greater than the sum of it’s parts, but that doesn’t stop it from being a great game.

Reviewcast: Left 4 Dead 2

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Fri, Dec 4, 2009)

The 2k9 sequel season goes out with a bang. With the first game winning over the hearts and minds of 4pc last year, the bar was set very high for this surprise sequel. Does it reach or, like this flavor text, does it fall victim to cliche?

Reviewcast: Assassin’s Creed 2

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Fri, Nov 27, 2009)

The first Assassin’s Creed was a polarizing game. Fish and Aaron have called it their most disappointing game of all time while Plachy loved every minute of it. How did the three of them feel about the sequel? If only there were a way to find out…

Reviewcast: Modern Warfare 2

Imagine for a moment that you are in the brig of a pirate ship. Your feet are shackled to the musty floorboards and the neck restraint has redefined the word “chaffing”. Suddenly, Jesus bursts through the hull and saves you. That’s what MW2 is like.

Reviewcast: Uncharted 2 – Among Thieves

Posted by Brendan Saricks (Thu, Oct 15, 2009)

Games like Uncharted 2 come with a certain expectation based on their pedigree. Considering the fact that 2/3rds of the Review Crew hated the first Uncharted I think it’s safe to say that pedigree, in their eyes, was crap. But is that what Uncharted 2 is?

I could be cliche and say something like “The Review Crew explores Good and Evil as they review inFAMOUS, exclusively for the Playstaion Three!” but that would be a like. We all went evil because there is no such thing as a lightning wielding good guy.

Oh don’t give me that Raiden nonsense, no one was ever sure who’s side he was on.
