Good news, bad news. The bad news is that you can only play the Move enabled version of RE 5 if you own the Gold Edition boxed version of the game. The good news is that if you care about Move support it’s possible you went and bought this, because motion control support for RE5 was one of the first times we ever heard mention of motion control on the Playstation 3. So there you go, want to play Resident Evil 5 with your Move controllers? You’ll need the gold edition.

Apparently, Capcom pulled the old rope-a-dope-shoryuken on us all and has finally announced a Street Fighter/Tekken mash-up. While we’ve been feverishly awaiting the latest characters to be announced for Marvel vs Capcom 3, they’ve been working on this crossover that has been rumored to be in development since the idea of mixing game franchises began. “Street Fighter X Tekken” will be a tag battle game and run on the Street Fighter 4 engine, meaning there will probably be more of an emphasis on combos and special moves and less on the Tekken style juggling. The game will come out on the Xbox and PS3. At the time of publishing, the release date was rumored to be early to mid not anytime soon.

Coming to Playstation Network on June 1st and to Xbox Live Marketplace the next day is Lost Planet 2 Map Pack 2. For your five dollars you get two new maps. The Dockyard Battle map is based on Episode 4 of the single player campaign. Frozen Wasteland is a remake of a Lost Planet map, meaning you get to experience some good ol’ nostalgia. Map Pack 2 brings the total number of Multiplayer maps to 14. Will that make you want to buy the game? Will it?

Details keep pouring out of last week’s Captivate event where Capcom brings a bunch of video game journalists to Hawaii to show them all kinds of rad new stuff that will be coming out “in the future”. The latest piece of info comes to us from Kotaku who were witness to Mega Man and Dead Rising creator Keiji Inafune who says that Capcom’s various development studios don’t have a unified direction. He hopes to correct that as he is now the Global Head of Production for Capcom. Basically he will be making sure that all future Capcom games meet a certain standard of quality. Good luck Mr. Inafune!

From Joystiq:

During its Captivate 2010 media event last week, Capcom revealed two additional multiplayer maps for Lost Planet 2. On top of the 10 maps included on the game disc, this pair of DLC maps will be used as a pre-order incentive (apparently exclusive to GameStop) and will also be made available for all owners of the game to purchase at an unspecified point in time after the game’s release.

The maps, “Helix” (pictured above) and “Back to the Island,” are (according to G4) said to feature the ability to swim (well, tread water, at least) with the former taking place underwater at the NEVEC ocean research facility. The latter, a remake of a map from the original game, sounds like it starts off on the beach of Island 902, carries on into the jungle, and then eventually winds up underground after players open a mysterious hatch. It’s a lost planet, after all.

While I love the idea of these maps I’m honestly not sure who is going to be playing the Lost Planet 2 multiplayer. I don’t think my friends are, and that’s the key to good multiplayer being able to play with my friends. If my friends aren’t playing a game online I’m not sure how long I’m going to last. The demo didn’t do a whole lot for me, but I should probably give it a second chance. None of what I said really matters though, because I’ll be buying the game, even pre ordering it. You should probably do the same.

Here’s a new trailer for Dead Rising 2, which will be in stores August 31st. Capcom has also spilled the beans on the game’s co-op mechanic. By pressing right on the d-pad you can call in a partner at any time. This is only doable online and cannot be done on one console. Also both players will earn experience points, but only “player 1″ will be able to save their progress. When “player 2″ goes back into their game, they will have not made the same progress they made while playing with their friend. The announcement of co-op in the game has me excited. I never played the first game because I heard the difficulty ramped up a bit too much. To be able to play with someone who’s an old Dead Rising pro like Fish will definitely make things easier to swallow for a rookie like me.

Awwww…..and seriously at this rate, is ANYTHING going to get revealed at E3? I mean come on. Back to business though, here’s a trailer for the localized version of the Okami sequel that will be coming to the DS “sometime” in 2011.
