Well, lo and behold, it IS coming to PS3 (a detail we obviously missed). Not only is this going to make Aaron upgrade his TV, James Mielke, on the 8-4 Play podcast, said there may be even more surprises:

“It will definitely be worth the couple months that people have to wait for the PS3 version to get finished. People with PS3s, people with nice TVs, people with all kinds of control options… it’s going to be really cool.”

The reason for the release date difference? Q? didn’t get any of that MS money, they are simply handling both versions themselves, with a staff of 30 people. You have to appreciate that commitment to quality. The PlayStation 3 version is due sometime in September.

Instead, you make separate gestures, such as slashing for your sword, reaching back toy pull an arrow out of your quiver then shooting from your bow, or making a flicking motion to throw ninja stars. The interesting thing is that the person demonstrating it didn’t appear to have a navigation controller, so the game may be an on-rails experience. It also didn’t show whether any moves at all weren’t just re-skinned moves from the sports bundle. Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest will be out this fall.
He then went on to explain how he didn’t think Irrational was a company that would make motion controlled games until Sony had him try out the Playstation Move (presumably at gunpoint). Levine then happily announced that the PlayStation 3 version of BioShock Infinite will now support Move controls despite previous announcements. He did say that they were just getting into playing with some ideas for motion interaction, and that he liked the potential for the peripheral to get new players to experience his games.

Furthermore, he said that they will use the extra space presented on Blu-ray discs by putting the original BioShock on the PS3 version of Infinite. Finally he teased that the Bioshock universe will be making its way to the NG- I mean the PS Vita, but he didn’t say how. What do you think Irrational has in store for us?

So it comes as no shocker that Resistance 3 is going to support the Move, and they are giving you a deal that will be hard to pass up. The Resistance 3 Doomsday Edition will come with the game, a Move controller, a navigation controller, a PlayStation Eye, and the Sharpshooter attachment all for $150, which is $50 less then the similar SOCOM 4 Full Deployment bundle. Will this deal be enough to get people to make the leap to the PlayStation Move?

Oh, the violence is coming along as well. Can’t forget the violence. The PS3 version of the game will feature the full version of the Wii counterpart as well as some of the content from No More Heroes 2, and it’s going to look prettier while doing so.

In addition to the enhanced visuals, No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise will feature PlayStation Move controls to simulate the orignal Wii experience. What’s that? You don’t have a Move controller? That’s alright; you can use the plain old boring DualShock 3 controller. We won’t judge you. For anyone who hasn’t played it on the Wii, are you interested in trying this game out?

In an interview with UK gaming magazine Play, Ken Levine declared that his upcoming game BioShock Infinite will not be integrating Move support.

“I’d never want to throw in Move support just because it’s going to make some first party happy or because some marketing department wants it on the box because, at the end of the day, gamers know,” he admitted. “If you don’t have anything special to say about that control device gamers are going to know.”

However, on the subject of integrating a 3D effect into the game, Levine was a bit more open. “3D is a little bit different… it’s something I’d be more open to. I’m not saying whether we’re doing that or not but it’s sort of a passive integration. Unlike movies, you don’t just shoot it differently. Games are 3D.,” Levine said. I’m sure we will get a decent amount of BioShock Infinite news at this year’s E3, but until then, keep checking back here for updates.

In addition to the game, $149.99 will get you a PlayStation Move motion controller, the navigation controller, a PlayStation Eye camera, and the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter modification. John Koller, Director of Merchandise Marketing at SCEA, is very proud of this package.

“Given the high level of anticipation for SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, we wanted to provide the most immersive offering to fans of the franchise, who seek to experience the next evolution of motion gaming. With the precision of the motion controller and the intuitive design of the sharp shooter, PlayStation Move delivers on that promise. When used in tandem with the stereoscopic 3D support for games like SOCOM 4 and Killzone 3, it results in an experience only possible on the PlayStation 3 system.”

Considering that separately buying all the pieces that come in the Full Deployment Edition will cost you roughly $200, this is a pretty good deal. However, will this deal be enough to get you to buy a PlayStation Move if you don’t already have one?

SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs and the Full Deployment Edition Comes out April 19th for the Playstion 3.

UPDATE: Joystiq says that Valve says that they were misquoted.

In case you weren’t already aware, the PS3 version of Portal 2 is the superior version of the game. How so? It’s going to support SteamWorks which will allow patching to happen on Valve’s terms. If Valve wants to fix something, done, if Valve wants to change the ending of a level, done. It will also come with a code allowing you to download a copy on Steam, giving you a free PC/Mac copy of the game. Today the German Playstation Blog has an interview with the game’s writer Chet Faliszek where he says that the game will also include full Playstation Move support. Yeah, I could see myself flinging portals around with my Move controller. And I bet that ball on top will change color depending on what color portal you can shoot. Sounds pretty rad to me, what do you think? Do you care about Move support in Portal 2?
