OnLive gets an exclusive demo of Red Faction: Armageddon today. Not to be confused with the already available Xbox 360 demo, this is the first 30 minutes of the game. Upon completion of the timed demo you will be offered a choice of pre-ordering the game from any number of retailers or pre-ordering the game through OnLive. Pre-ordering through OnLive gets you an instant code reddemable for Red Faction: Guerrilla and a free OnLive Game System for free as soon as your credit card gets charged for the game. Whether you pick it up at the store or you stream it to your computer Red Faction: Armageddon is out June 7th.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for Red Faction: Armageddon you are going to have to remain patient, for at least one more week. THQ announced yesterday that the game has been delayed from it’s May 31st release date to June 7th. You’ll at least have the demo to keep you warm during these cold Armageddon-less nights.

Red Faction: Armageddon has been a long time coming, but THQ is going to make the wait a little less painful with a demo. The demo is due to be released May 3rd on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Of course, that’s pending PlayStation Network actually being up and running. So if all you have is a PlayStation 3, hopefully you have a friend with an Xbox 360. Red Faction: Armageddon is in stores on May 31st.

Gamers using the PlayStation Network received a rather informative email recently regarding the future vehicular combat game, Red Faction: Battlegrounds. The email stated that the DLC will be released on April 5th for $10. While it isn’t less than $10 for everyone like they wanted, those who are PlayStation Plus subscribers can get the game for zero dollars as an incentive for being a PS Plus member. Even though the email was distributed through Sony channels, it should be assumed that we’ll see it for XBLA on the same date for their equivalent of $10, 800 Microsoft Points.

Red Faction Armageddon is a game that I feel like has been out for months, but it turns out it’s not! In fact THQ announced a release date today. The game will finally hit store shelves on May 31st. Red Faction Armageddon was announced on a wave of cult like hype for Red Faction Guerrilla. While that game didn’t sell particularly well the games press heaped lots of praise on it. Hoping to feed off some of that energy THQ announced Armageddon well before it’s release date. It was due out in March, but as we see now the game will come out at the very end of May. Here’s hoping people are still excited for a new Red Faction game.

A THQ rep over at Gamescom told Joystiq that they would like to sell Red Faction: Battlegrounds for less than 10 bucks. To make the deal even sweeter they would love to give it away for free. Of course to get it for free you would have to pre-order Red Faction: Armageddon. Which means for that deal to make sense they would have to sell it for five dollars. Why? Well, because if it cost 10 to download it, and only five to pre-order Armageddon you could just go put your money down to pre-order the game, get your code for Battlegrounds and then cancel your Armageddon pre-order and get your five bucks back. I mean, not that you would do that, right?

THQ has been working on an arena combat game called Red Faction: Battlegrounds. It will be a Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade title that will release in early 2011. The THQ press release describes the game as:

“a fast-paced multiplayer-focused vehicular combat game in which fast-attack vehicles, heavy tanks and combat walkers wreak havoc above ground and beneath the surface of Mars.”

THQ has been busy with the Red Faction franchise, working on this title, Red Faction: Armageddon, as well as a movie based on the game.
