Yesterday, we joked how Rockstar gave us no information about Grand Theft Auto V other than the fact that it exists. However, shortly after the game was announced, an unnamed source told Kotaku some details of what we can possibly expect from the game. First off, the game will supposedly be set in RockStar’s version of Los Angeles. We already got their treatment of L.A. from San Andreas, and they just did a replica of a 1940s version of the city in L.A. Noire, so if this turns out to be true, they must really like that area.

As for characters, it seems as though you are going to play as multiple people throughout the course of the game. Whether or not these multiple characters are played through DLC, like Grand Theft Auto IV‘s Episodes From Liberty City, is still unclear, but it seems unlikely that we’re already getting info about the DLC that’s planned for the game. Hopefully this info will be enough to whet your appetite until November 2nd, when we get the trailer.

Hurricane Irene has spent the last few days tearing through the Northeast, leaving people homeless, and causing destruction everywhere it touches. In other tragic news, it looks like Epic Mickey 2 could be in development. A recent survey asks voters to choose which box art would make them most likely to purchase the game. There are also several titles being pitched, including: Epic Mickey 2: Return of the Mad Doctor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Epic Mickey 2: Mystery on Mean Street, and just Epic Mickey 2

The survey is also filled with some other juicy details including a 2-player mode where one player can play as Mickey with his paint and thinner, or his older brother Oswald the Lucky Rabbit who can “fly like a helicopter and use electricity to fight or friend enemies and solve challenges.”

Epic Mickey 2 is being planned for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii.

We know what 4PC thought about the first Epic Mickey, but what do you think about a sequel?

NeoGaf found this image of a Resistance 3 PS3 bundle and right on the front is a logo for a PSN pass. Hence the need for the PlayStation Store.

This of course is nothing new and is almost the norm at this point. Do PSN passes, and online passes turn you off from games? Does it actually encourage you to buy games? Or does it not even matter as much as we’d like to think it does?

This time the info comes from BGR, who are also saying that Microsoft plans to unveil their next console at E3 2012. Their sources even say that it has been in development for the past five years.

This marks the third time rumors regarding the next Xbox have surfaced within a two month span. In regards to the previous rumors, both EA and Crytek have denied having any sort of dev kit for whatever Microsoft is planning. You can probably expect other such denials until E3 2012, provided this rumor turns out to be factual.

Until then, take the rumors with a grain of salt, and wait for more solid evidence so that you don’t get your hopes up. That being said, what is your take on all the next gen Xbox rumors floating around?

EVE Online is an MMO for the PC, but a couple of years ago CCP the company behind the game announced Dust-514 a first-person shooter set in the EVE universe. We haven’t heard much out of the game in a very long time, but that looks to be all set to change as CCP has put up a countdown clock that looks to reveal Dust-514 as a PS3 exclusive. How did we come to this conclusion? Well we didn’t Kotaku did with the help of a reader.

First the countdown ends at 5pm Pacific time which is the same time Sony’s press event starts. Second, seven images were uncovered all featuring PS3 logos only. Third, when the countdown ends it will direct you to a post on the PlayStation Blog. Sounds like pretty solid evidence to us that the game will be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

The question is, why? Well if we remember correctly conflicts in the multiplayer portion of Dust-514 were supposed to affect the MMO, and we know how friendly Sony’s console has been getting with games on the PC. Was Microsoft just too strict? Will EVE Online players get to link their account to Dust-514 to get perks or to transfer info back and forth from the MMO? We’ll find out in a little less than 48 hours.

Ever since Sony announced the NGP a few months ago we assumed we would have to wait until E3 to find out what the system was really going to be called. Well, if this story is accurate than the system is called the PS Vita. Vita which is Latin and Italian for life would I guess be good marketing hype. “You need the Vita in your life” Jack Tretton would say on stage before Kaz Hirai came out to announce that it was $499.

How we came to this info is a little tricky. I guess a blog called Mega Rock posted the info first, but that blog has since been REMOVED FROM THE INTERNET, which is very hard to do. GamesPundit then ran the story with the image you see above. Finally, we saw it on Joystiq where they mentioned that Vita or Veeta was the code name for the NGP, before we all found out that the code name was NGP (next generation portable). So the stars do seem to be aligning. Lest we forget that it was a week before Sony’s E3 press event in 2009 that the PSPgo leaked. It’s possible there is no way to keep anything a secret anymore.

UPDATE: Twitter has uncovered and Joystiq is reporting the existence of the dev website vita.scedev.net. Scedev.net is the URL for developers of software for Sony’s systems. Other URLs include PS3.scedev.net and psp.scedev.net. I think we may have solved this case gentleman.

To make things even more suspicious a NeoGaf user noticed that on last week’s episode of Penny Arcade TV the fine folks from Penny Arcade went to play ping pong against Bungie and someone on the Bungie team was wearing a weird shirt and HEY THERE’S THAT SYMBOL AGAIN!! Its all making sense now. Right? Does it make sense?

The image you see above is apparently from the reveal trailer for Starhawk the very often whispered about followup to Warhawk. While we don’t have a ton of info the game looks like sci-fi Warhawk, but not Warhawk in space. There are images of soldiers on the ground, soldiers in vehicles, and soldiers in mechs with wings. So I imagine the mechs would be your Warhawks this time around. GamingEverything found the images on GameSpot before they were yanked from the site, but NeoGaf also found this dev diary about the team making the game. Meanwhile Kotaku points out that the trailer should appear on tonight’s episode of GameTrailers TV on SpikeTV. Phew, that’s a lot of sources. So, are we finally ready for some Starhawk? Will PlayStation Network even be up by then? HAR HAR!
